Message of His Eminence to a Conference dubbed “American Human Rights from the Supreme Leader's Perspective”

The US has thus far toppled more than 60 national and democratically elected governments in the world replacing its agents and puppets with them. As was said, if a book is to be written on the crimes perpetrated by the United States, it would be a thick book and they are beyond the scope of this article.

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful

"And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (of) those who say: Our Lord! cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper." [Quran, 4:75]

Among the topics highly recommended by the life-giving and man-making school of Islam is that man should know where he stands and whose side he is on. Is he on the side of Muslims, the downtrodden and the oppressed or on the side of the arrogant, the tyrants and the oppressors?

You can easily witness whether majority of the leaders, rulers and heads of Muslim countries are acting upon this verse of the Quran or, to the contrary, they are allied with the enemies cooperating and sympathizing with the Zionism and the US that represent the modern-day Jews and Christians. They are fighting Muslims, the faithful and the oppressed having no mercy on their own people an example of which is the execution and beheading of more than thirty young Shia Muslims by the Saudi regime.

Whilst in bed suffering from a fatal injury, the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (AS) addresses his children saying:

کُونَوا لِلظَّالِمِ خَصْماً وَ لِلْمَظْلُومِ عَوْناً

"Be enemies of the oppressors and supporters of the oppressed."

The annual congress held in the first week of July and dubbed this year as "The American Human Rights Week" is an opportunity to better learn about the horrible crimes committed by the pseudo claimants of human rights. As Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei (may he live long) has said, if a writer were to write on the crimes perpetrated by the US, he would have to write a thick book.

The blind-hearted hypocrites, the criminal agents of the US attempted to assassinate the Supreme Leader on 27th June 1981.  Praise belongs to Allah, the Exalted, Who protected him in this incident. He survived the attack while the next on 28 June 1981 a bomb went off at the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party (IRP) in Tehran leading to the martyrdom of Ayatollah Beheshti and 72 people from his friends and companions. The bomber fled to one of the European countries and lived there under protection for many years. Surprisingly, those who claim to defend human rights are now supporting hundreds of MKO members who have the blood of the innocent people of Iran on their hands. These hypocrites are being used for terrorist attacks in the world.

The chemical attack in Sardasht of Iran that led to the death of thousands of Muslims and followers of the Sunni ethnic group is among the heinous crimes committed by Saddam Hussein with the help and support of the United States.  The US government helped the Ba'athist regime of Saddam throughout the imposed war. More importantly, the downing of Iran's passenger plane on 3 July 1988 in Persian Gulf by a US Navy guided-missile cruiser led to the death of more than 290 innocent civilians including 60 children.

To ratchet up pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the US launched a chemical attack on the oppressed people of Kurdistan, and also shot down a civilian aircraft. From a military point of view, the downing of a passenger aircraft has no value and it is nothing but the killing of innocent people. Now, a question arises as to why after 31 years from the incident when a giant American unmanned aircraft is shot down by the Guard Corps after it entered Iran's airspace, the US cannot do a damn thing, and to justify its weakness, it brings up an excuse saying that it did not attack because 150 people would get killed as a consequence of it. It is surprising to hear that from the US. If you think human lives are so important, why did you shoot down the passenger plane and kill 290 people on board? If human lives were important for the US, why did it launch an atomic attack on Japan killing two hundred thousand people and leaving thousands more in pain and handicapped?  If human lives were important for the US, why did it massacre 125 thousand Vietnamese in a single day? That was when it had announced that on the eve of the New Year, it would stop the Vietnam War for 48 hours but when people came out of their shelters, it started bombing them heavily killing tens of thousands of them.

If human lives were important for the US, why did it massacre millions of the red Indians and why are more than thirty five millions of them persecuted, oppressed and subjected to cruelty?  Why are they deprived of their social rights and subjected to torture in the notorious American prisons? If human lives were important for the US, why did it kill the oppressed and helpless people of Iraq during its occupation of their country?

If human lives were important for the US government, why did kill tens of thousands of the oppressed people in Afghanistan to get the world's illicit drug trade and black market not to mention the fact that ,after the US invasion of Afghanistan, drug and opium production in this country increased by 40 percent?

The US has thus far toppled more than 60 national and democratically elected governments in the world replacing its agents and puppets with them. As was said, if a book is to be written on the crimes perpetrated by the United States, it would be a thick book and they are beyond the scope of this article.

I would like to thank the people in charge of the international conference on American human rights for their efforts to show the true and criminal image of the US to the nations, and I pray to Allah, the Almighty to grant them success in achieving their goals.

May Allah's curse be upon the oppressors.
