Speaking in a meeting with Afghanistan's ambassador to Iran, Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani (may he live long) said that there is no such thing as geographical border in Islam. "Muslims across the world, wherever they might be, are brothers of one another. They should love and look at one another as brothers, and they should be strong and solid in the face of infidels," he stressed.
His Eminence added, "Today the Islamic Ummah must be aware of the condition and circumstances prevailing at this time. Muslim nations should fulfill their duties in accordance with the demands and exigencies of this time. Today we are in a special situation and enemies are carrying out heavy attacks against Muslim nations. It is necessary for Muslims to unite and stand together in such conditions."
His Eminence emphasized on the need for taking recourse to the Holy Quran and adhering to the covenant of Allah by avoiding discord. He deplored that some Muslim countries are still not united against their common enemy. "Unfortunately, some Muslim nations are not united against the enemy. They should not allow Afghanistan to be looted by the US and Zionists," he said.
His Eminence further added: "The Afghan and other Muslim nations must stand united and strong so that the enemy cannot infiltrate; we must prevent enemy infiltration with cohesion and unity among Muslims. The enemy must not dare to step into Islamic countries."
Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is on the side of Muslim nations, especially Afghanistan. Meanwhile, he said: "No enemy should be given the opportunity to act freely. The infidels are our enemies in every way and we must strengthen ourselves by all means. We must, with the power of faith and belief, stand up to the enemy. Despite all the hardships, the Islamic Republic of Iran has stood up against its enemies with all its might."
"The enemies' hearts are full of spite and hatred against Muslims. They can never be friends of the Muslim nations. If on some occasions they smile at us, it is only to deceive us so as to inflict their harm on us," he noted.
Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani further added that hosting over three million Afghan refugees is a sign of Iranian friendliness and affection. He pointed out that sometimes some ethical problems arise from the two sides that need to be resolved. He stressed on the need for exploiting the capacity of friendship for the benefit of the two nations. Meanwhile he added, "The Afghan people and government should expel Americans and enemies from their territory and not allow them to roam around in the country freely. We will have power whenever we are united. But if we get involved in any conflict and dispute, the power will vanish. The Afghan people are our brothers and we are with the people of this country."
