The Text of His Holiness' Message
In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful
We are from Allah and to Him we shall return.
On the day of the blessed birth of Hazrat Imam Ali b. Musa al-Reza (peace be upon him), the news of the martyrdom of the esteemed president and his companions and the loss of his sincere servants was a cause of deep regret and emotion.
The late Martyr Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Raisi (may God bless him and grant him peace) spent his entire life serving the people and the revolution with sincerity, piety and humility, and in this way, he was tireless in all fields, both in the judicial system and during the presidency of the government. What I saw in him from the beginning of my acquaintance in 1954 until today and what I do testify is that he considered God's pleasure in the matters that he handled and I believe that his martyrdom was the reward for this sincere service.
Undoubtedly, the dear people are grateful for all those efforts. God willing, this path of service will continue under the blessed attention of the Infallibles (peace be upon them), especially the Imam of Age (May God speed him up), as well as under the leadership of the Supreme Leader and the support of the pious people, through the servants.
I know it is necessary to honor the memory of Tabriz's Friday prayer leader, Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimīn, Ᾱl Hashem, the honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs and other companions.
At the end, I offer condolences on the martyrdom of these dear ones to Hazrat Wali Asr (may God bless him and grant him peace) and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and noble nation of Islamic Iran, and I pray for the elevation of the status of those dear ones.
