According to the official website of Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani (may he live long), during his Kharij (advanced) lecture held in the A'zam Mosque of Qom His Eminence underscored the need for alleviating the people's problems as well as for continued relief efforts and reaching out to the affected people until their situation is stable.
Referring to the efforts made by clerics and seminary students to help the affected people in the flooded areas, His Eminence said, "Unfortunately, the media are not covering well the presence of clerics in the flooded areas as well as the services rendered by them but we definitely witnessed the relentless efforts made by scholars and seminary students in the recent disasters caused by floods."
His Eminence further added that the clerics did whatever in their capacity to reach out to the affected people. In recent floods, they rendered a wide range of services including propagation, transportation and cleaning houses and roads.
He said that the presence of religious scholars and clerics is a reminder of the 'sacred defense' period. "Just as the people went in crowds with clerics to the war fronts during the 'sacred defense' era, today too they are doing the same. Actually, we must thank the people and religious students for their help and assistance. However, relief efforts must keep going to those areas," His Eminence stressed.
Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani went saying that efforts should continue to help alleviate the problems of the people. "Those affected by the flood should continue to receive relief until their losses are recompensed and their houses are built. It should not be looked at as a temporary task," His Eminence said.
His Eminence concluded, "As usual, the Islamic seminaries should stand alongside the people and should help them with their material and spiritual help. The authorities should meet their needs by taking a quick action. Their losses should be recompensed and they should not be left alone. The people should know that the Hawzah and clerics are always with them and will continue to serve them."
