Political, cultural, economic and social problems will vanish if we adhere to religious principles

Criticizing some authorities for disregarding religious principles, Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani stated, "Those who work for the good of the people must fulfill their responsibility to the society."

In a meeting with members of the Iranian Anti Tobacco Association, Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani pointed out that medicine and medical profession has been highly recommended by Islam. He further added saying, "Just as the human soul has tremendous value, so does the human body."

Referring to some narrations which have emphasized the importance of medicine His Eminence said, "The type of nutrition, the timetable and the amount of nutrition are highly instrumental to man's health and well-being, and that everyone has to take them into consideration in order to stay healthy. Exercises, regular and constant physical activity improve your health."

Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani said that places that are frequented by people are not private."Speaking from a jurisprudential perspective, the places which cannot be used by the public are private domiciles; therefore, coffee shops cannot be considered private."

Highlight the numerous negative effects of tobacco, His Eminence added, "Problems such as addiction, divorce and such other things should be solved at the grassroots level .One of the key factors responsible for the youth's tendency to addiction is that the authorities take no heed of the youth's problems and the root causes of the anomalies. Just as the human soul has tremendous value, so does the human body."

Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani further stressed, "Unemployment is the root cause of problems such as drug abuse and divorce in the country; by asking the people who are addicted we find that they have fallen prey to addiction due to the problem of unemployment. Therefore, officials should pay attention to these problems."

Criticizing the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) for not addressing and dealing with some social problems, the prominent lecturer at the highest level of the Islamic Seminary noted, "The authorities must uphold the constitution when they take up managerial roles and they must help alleviate the problems of the society."

His Eminence underscored the need for controlling prices and reducing living costs. "People should be able to buy things at affordable prices and they have the right to see that social problems such as unemployment have been eliminated and replaced with something affordable and profuse." 

Criticizing some of the authorities for paying no heed to religious teachings such as prohibition of additional sum paid to the bank on default, His Eminence, stressed, "Those who work for the good of all the people not a particular group of them must fulfill their responsibility to the society."

His Eminence went on saying that political, cultural, economic and social problems will vanish if we stick to religious principles.
