In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful
We are on the eve of the fifth decade of the victory of the Islamic revolution which was founded and led by late Imam Khomeini, the great leader and religious authority of the Shia world, may his soul rest in peace. Indeed, the Islamic revolution of Iran was considered the miracle of the century, and perhaps the most basic form of the government that the prophets and infallible Imams (AS) wished to establish. On this occasion, the great leader of the Islamic revolution, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (may he live long) issued a highly valuable statement whose rich content will continue to serve not only as a manifest but also as a torch lighting up the path of the Iranian nation, especially the young generation, as they continue to traverse this path.
This valuable statement addresses the dimensions and needs of the country's economic, political, scientific, cultural, and religious futures each requiring hours of scholarly work by elites and experts. Here are some of the key points raised in the statement:
1- Putting emphasis on entering a new phase of the revolution, the most important features of which are overcoming political, military, cultural and, more recently, economic challenges.
2- Getting the values of the revolution across the borders and making sure it will influence the region and the entire world as well as helping in the formation of a young civilization system based on spiritual values.
3- Maturity of the revolution in the macro-managerial level of the society and getting through the difficult political, social and economic crises.
4- The need for preparation of the young revolutionary generation in seminaries and universities to undertake and fulfill important duties.
- The great responsibility of seminarians, especially the young clerics, in generating seminary knowledge particularly inferring legal rulings in accordance with the needs and demands of the modern age as well as explaining the Islamic civilization system in the areas of political, economic and cultural management.
6- Laying emphasis on creating opportunities for and in support of the young generation and the need to strengthen unity and maintain the spirit of revolutionary resistance against the enemy in all areas. As well, stressing on the remarkable achievements and blessings of this glorious revolution which have been implemented in seven areas. These constitute the features of this manifest which must be fully explained to public. The valuable recommendations mentioned under seven titles of scientific research, spirituality and ethics, economics, justice and fight against corruption, independence and liberty, national dignity, borderline with the enemy, and the Islamic lifestyle need to be worked upon at length.
Today, after forty years of the victory of the Islamic revolution and the resistance of the Iranian nation in the face of all the sanctions, threats and aggressions, the great nation moves ahead more strongly than ever before making the enemy lose hope of destroying the revolution. Led by late Imam Khomeini (RA) and now by Supreme Leader of Iran who has run the affairs of the country for the past nearly thirty years now, the great people of Iran traversed the path of the revolution more robustly so that this revolution may be handed over to our master, the Imam of Age, Imam Mahdi (AS) after his blessed reappearance.
In the end, I have a piece of advice for the scientific elites in the seminaries and universities and that is to read this manifest carefully and take practical steps to discuss it in scholarly gatherings and circles as well as to acquaint the people of Iran, especially the youth with the foregoing points. The national media and journalists should make efforts to publish the manifest and make use of experts and specialists to explain every article and detail of it. In fact, it should be made available to all strata of the society.
This statement was widely welcomed in recent days especially in the scholarly circles of the country including those in seminaries and universities. These gatherings are in reality meant to shore up and support this manifest which is so rich in content. It is expected that they will take a major step forward in organizing scientific conferences and reviewing and focusing on the titles of this manifest.
